Bolts Cut Roster: Who’s In-Who’s Out

Once the scrimmage with Norfolk was completed last night, the Turk visited eleven Lightning players. After clearing waivers, forwards Martins Karsums and Blair Jones were assigned to AHL Norfolk. Goaltenders Dustin Tokarski, Riku Helenius and Jaroslav Janus (unsigned), defensemen Vladimir Mihalik and Ty Wishart, and forwards Juraj Simek, Paul Szczechura and Dana Tyrell were also assigned to the Admirals.
Earlier, forward Carter Ashton was sent to his junior team in Lethbridge.
Radek Smolenak was claimed on waivers by Chicago on Friday, leaving 29 players in camp with just one more preseason game remaining on the schedule, Sunday in Atlanta. The Lightning roster will be trimmed down to 23 players by Wednesday prior the start of the regular season October 3 in Atlanta.

Eleven defensemen: Mattias Ohlund, Victor Hedman, Paul Ranger, Andrej Meszaros, Kurtis Foster, Matt Walker, Matt Smaby, Matt Lashoff, Mike Lundin, Lukas Krajicek and David Hale
Two goaltenders: Mike Smith and Antero Niittymaki
