I would have no problem having a young guy take Sim's spot in the lineup providing he earns it and it's not just given to him because he is a "young prospect" I would also like be more of a pro team this year where we concentrate more on the W-L record and less on breaking guys in and getting their feet wet to play in the NHL.

Yablonski is 33 years old and is not a prospect. I was alluding to the 70's by saying that line would be fun to watch.

Yablonski was signed for toughness in Bridgeport, though I could see him brought up for a game or 2.

Like I said, the idea would be for a young guy to take Sim's old spot and let him spend the season tudoring the kids at Bridgeport.

You consider Yabolnski a prospect or are you just joking? You think he could put up anywhere near 13 goals in a season? I think there might be a couple of situations where he might be useful against a few teams but I don't see him staying on the Isles for long periods of time. It ain't the 1970's anymore in the NHL.

I agree Adam....I would rather see Matt Martin, Kirill Petrov or even Jeremy Yabolnski be in the lineup rather than see Sim all season.

Can you imagine that 4th line...Konopka-Gillies-Yablonski? HA!

Not to worry Isles27, Jon Sim is on a two-way deal. I'm more suprised about Hilbert being brought back into the fold.

I imagine they are both here to fill in as experienced vets if anyone goes down due to injury. But if either one of those players impinges on another prospects playing time. . .not so good.

Nice writeup Stabile just a few things. I hope this D is going to be physical enough this season because I have my doubts right now. Wisniewski plays physical on a consistent basis but who else on this D does on a consistent basis? I don't understand all the hate and attention Sim gets. He is a 4th liner who put up 13 goals last season draws penalties and is a PIA to play against. He had some problems right before the Olympic break when he got benched but I thought that was due to fatigue. If he is moved up from the 4th line it should be because of injuries and I hope it's not because some other players are under performing. So basically I wouldn't have a problem if he is on the team playing on the 4th line especially if he has someone on his line who can drop the gloves I think that would make him a more effective pest. Lastly as far as Goring I am not as optimistic as you are about his ability. I thought he was pretty bad on HNL and when he worked the stands, I just don't see him doing that well in the booth for 82 games.
