Predators Shoot Down Stars

Nashville had not won a game when trailing after two periods in this young season. Down 2-1 at the end of two periods, the Stars appeared to have the Predators right where they wanted them.
A funny thing happened on the way to an apparent victory by the Stars. The Predator offense awoke and scored three third period goals to shoot down the Stars 4-2. Steve Sullivan fired a wrister past a screened Alex Auld to tie the game, and Patric Hornqvist and Kevin Klein scored in the span of 1:43 to seal the win for the Predators. This was their third consecutive win and brought their record back to .500 for October.
Pekka Rinne was solid in net, stopping 27 of 29 shots by the Stars. Pekka rarely gave up a rebound and limited the Stars opportunities around the net. Coupled with his time on ice in relief on the Minnesota game, Pekka has held opponents scoreless for 92 minutes.
Shea Weber tied the game at one in the first period with a bomb from the blue line. The Preds trailed by virtue of a Steve Ott power play goal. In the second period, Brian Sotherby put the Stars ahead with a wicked slap shot that found the post and the back of the net. This set the stage for the third period comeback by the Predators for the victory.
This team has shown that when they play their style of hockey, they can win. They are playing Predator hockey now. Solid goal tending, sound defense, and opportunistic scoring is the hallmark of this team, and when they bring that to the rink, they are tough to play against.
A three game win streak gives them confidence as they get ready to head back on the road. They now see what it takes to win. They are getting confident in their ability as a team. Now it’s time to continue the positive trend that they have started.
The Predators are back in the hunt. Time to play like Predators
