Not So Fast, Francis

The reported contract signing of Francis Bouillon by the Predators has been put on hold as it has been determined that Bouillon has not fully recovered from groin and abdominal injuries that kept him out of the Canadiens line up for two months last year. Bouillon has now executed a Professional Tryout Agreement with the Predators, but will be out of the line up tonight as Nashville travels to Atlanta to take on the Thrashers. It is hoped that he could be on the ice for the Saturday preseason game against Carolina, but he is day to day in his efforts to get back to full speed.

It had been hoped that Bouillon would add veteran depth and leadership to what will be a very young corp of blueliners for the Predators. It will remain to be seen what the team will do should he not be at full speed by the start of the season. Given the youth  on the back end, I would expect to see a veteran added to the roster. As for now, Bouillon is a questionable option for this team.
