Canucks Look to Build on “Embarrassing” Game Two for Blackhawks
With a bad taste in their mouth that has lasted with them for a whole season, The Vancouver Canucks returned to the Madhouse on Madison determined to silence the crowd after being run out of the building in last year’s crushing season ending defeat. After a tense opening ten minutes, the Canucks got to work [...]
A Fight for Revenge; Canucks and Blackhawks Set for Battle in Conference Semi-Final Rematch
After a frustrating and at times scary series against the Los Angeles Kings, the Vancouver Canucks have once again emerged out of the first round of the Stanley Cup Playoffs with hopes of making the next step by advancing to the Western Conference Final for the first time since 1994. While the young and talented [...]
THE NARROW MARGIN: BLACKHAWKS-CANUCKS’ GRUDGE MATCH 2010
“Whenever you can win a playoff series, it feels good. I don’t know who said it was going to be an easy series or we were going to get upset. It was two teams that played hard going back to the regular season. It was a very tough series. I give them a lot of credit. It could have really gone either way.”
This was Patrick Sharp’s summary of the series against the Predators, but it could have been a preview of the rematch between the Blackhawks and the Vancouver Canucks. The ingredients for a classic combat are there. Two talented teams with a history of hate; two teams who match up in a variety of areas; two teams who have been anointed as legitimate contenders for the Stanley Cup.
They Are Who We Thought They Were; Canucks Threaten Kings with Elimination After Dominating Game Five
During this year’s playoffs, The Canucks continue to remind me of Dennis Green’s epic post-game rant after his Arizona Cardinals lost to the Chicago Bears years ago. The Canucks are who we thought they were, it may have taken a couple games but the Canucks seemed to simultaneously hit their stride on Friday night, finding [...]
Best of Three; Canucks and Kings Poised to Push Opposition to the Brink in Game Five
Best of Three; Canucks and Kings Poised to Push Opposition to the Brink in Game Five Ed Note: The Stanley Cup Playoffs are intense, unfortunately so are final exams. Winning on the Road…Maybe Not

Luongo, Canucks Look to Keep Kings From Stranglehold On Series
If Drew Doughty and Michal Handzus had their way, they would play every power play and the rest of the team would just draw the calls. The Canucks’ penalty killing woes continued on Monday night, Drew Doughty and Michal Handzus had three power play points each on three consecutive power plays for the Kings, all [...]

After 60 minutes of dominating hockey, the Vancouver Canucks were finally able to come together as a team coming up with clutch plays in overtime to defeat the Los Angeles Kings and take game one of their Stanley cup playoff race. Sedins, Luongo lead Canucks Cup Campaign; The Vancouver Canucks 2010 Playoff Preview
82 Games played, 103 points. Another regular season has come and gone, and once again the Canucks stand atop the Northwest Division poised for a lengthy playoff run. Unlike years past, this season’s playoff optimism is accompanied by a sense of expectation, and in some minds a certain sense of confidence in this year’s edition [...]
You’re going to need a bigger box
If Roy Scheider thought the Shark in Jaws was big, he should count the gam of San Jose Shark players that were piled in the penalty box during Thursday’s tilt with the Vancouver Canucks. The final period was a completely different game altogether. A total of 76 penalty minutes were dolled out in the third [...]
Sedin’s Give Bryzgalov Nightmares In Canucks Home Win
The Canucks just can’t seem to be stopped at home. Henrik Sedin and Roberto Luongo led the way for the Canucks as they proved the surprising Coyotes are not to interfere with the Canucks’ push for a Northwest Division title or home ice advantage, winning 4-1 over the Coyote’s Tuesday night. Every player on the [...]
Canucks Best Ducks; Go Shark Hunting in Cali
It was an unfamiliar sight for the 18,000+ in attendance at GM Place Wednesday night; a healthy Roberto Luongo sat on the bench to start the game in GM Place for the first time ever as a Canuck. In net, Andrew Raycroft looked as though he had been making all those consecutive home starts over [...]
Canucks Set Sights On Islanders After Big Weekend
It was a wild weekend for the Canucks, after a couple days off last week; it was time for the boys to defend the barn they have been away from for so long that it even changed names. Yes, the Canucks were back home, having played twice over the weekend at GM Place. No place [...]
On the Road Again: Canucks overcome Olympic Hangover against BJ’s and ‘Wings
After one of the most exciting and memorable hockey games of all time on Sunday, it’s not surprising that Roberto Luongo was given the night off against Columbus on Tuesday, allowing Andrew Raycroft to get a rare start. Luongo looked almost comfortable and at peace on the bench for a change, I guess a gold [...]
Canucks Move East to Challenge ‘Habs Sans Cammalleri
After an ugly start and an equally impressive comeback over the Leafs on Hockey Day in Canada, the Vancouver Canucks look to continue to improve on the road and overcome the .500 barrier away from GM Place. Since news of Mike Cammalleri’s knee injury, the Canadiens are probably just looking to keep their head above [...]
Measure This! Canucks send a message; Beat ‘Hawks 5-1
The Canucks were out to prove that unlike last year’s frustrating playoff losses to the Blackhawks, they can beat the elite teams in the NHL, even if their record doesn’t land them in the same territory. They didn’t even need their top three defensemen to do it. In back to back Saturday nights under CBC’s [...]

Won the Fights, Lost the War. Canucks Lose Northwest Battle in Shootout.
It was everything a battle for the Northwest Division lead is supposed to be, and then some. The Canucks and Flames battled over 1st place in the Northwest Division last night, and neither team was willing to give up an inch of ice to their opposition. Rick Rypien and Brandon Prust fought twice in two [...]

Heading into tonight’s game against the Oilers, the Canucks had proven to be a tough team to figure out, forget putting any money on these guys.
