Atlanta Thrashers sign veteran Chris Chelios

As per Sportsnet and RDS, the Atlanta Thrashers have signed veteran Chris Chelios for the remainder of the season. Chelios is currently played with their AHL affiliate, the Chicago Wolves.

He will have to clear waivers in order to rejoin the Thrashers. He will be available for call-up in case of injury. No immediate NHL plans.

In 1,644 gamese, Chelios, 48, scored 185 goals and added 763 helpers for 948 points. Chelios also boasts an impressive +/- differential of +352.
