Lang Signs with Coyotes

The 38 year-old Robert Lang has agreed to a contract with the Phoenix Coyotes pending a physical. He spent last season with the Montreal Canadiens scoring 18 goals and 21 assists in 50 games.
It looks as though despite the Coyotes management conundrum, Lang is not bothered by their situation and is looking to step onto the ice and provide some much needed leadership for the club. He is still capable of putting up 20 goal seasons, and was limited to just 50 games last season due to a freak injury after his Achilles heel had been stepped on accidentally.

Can’t imagine he is thrilled to be going there but at this point I’m not sure he had many other options. Better to be in a lousy situation making money than sitting at home making no money.
Though I don’t disagree, I’m not at all surprised by the signing. The Coyotes need more veteran presence and he could do a lot for their second line in teaching the young kids. Great signing for the Coyotes.
