Capitals Sign Tomas Fleischmann

Talk about bad timing. Just as I post my “Arbitration Showdown” piece on the hearing that was set for tomorrow, the Caps have avoided arbitration with Tomas Fleischmann. The terms of the agreement are for a 1 year deal worth $2.6 million. This certainly is on the high end of the range I thought Flash would receive. Most were expecting a salary in the $2.0-$2.3 million range.
The deal guarantees all RFA’s will return to the Capitals next season. The main question will be whether Fleischmann will remain on the wing or have shot at winning the second line center spot.
More details as they become available.
