van Riemsdyk Erupts vs Caps Rookies

James van Riemsdyk, the second overall pick in the 2007 NHL entry draft, scored four goals as the Flyers rookie campers topped the Caps 7-3, in Voorhees, NJ.
JvR showed that he’s a versatile scorer, banging home garbage goals, and scoring a beautiful breakaway tally at the end of the game.
van Riemsdyk noted afterwards that the breakaway goal was a move that he used a lot while tearing up Hockey East, but had limited success with it during a breif stint in the AHL last season.
Defense prospects Kevin Marshall and Joonas Lehtivuori displayed an ability to put some mustard on their point shots, which might help one of them make the NHL squad. Marshall in particular was adept at getting a lot of velocity on a puck and either getting it on net or in a good spot for a redirection.
All I know is, it was great actually seeing a live game.

this was very exciting to watch even with one camera footage
Amen. I forgot what hockey looked like. I was catching snippets in my truck…damned comcast!
