I'm a realist, Theo. No doubt about it, the Islanders have gelled very well this season. Though, I'm still not ready to pack it in and say the Rangers are worse than the Islanders. It will make for quite the rivalry for the rest of the season, now that both teams will really be playing for something.

You say you dont want to be tied with the Islanders? Dont worry, after this season, you will be looking up at them in the standings instead ;)

sorry, not trying to be a dick....just stating what I think will be a fact.
The Ranger fans I know truly believe the Isles will bea force in a couple of years.

Yeah they are capped out, but for once we actually do have young players. By no means am I saying they are in a great situation with contracts like Drury/Redden/Rozsival, but we have some young pieces that really do need to be waited out. When your in NY you are always pressed to win, but as a change there are actual groomed prospects from the system that will play bigger roles in the future. Rangers fans tend to ignore moral victories because we all want to win, but this may be the case this year.

Aren't the Rangers capped out though? Hardly seems like a moral victory kind of year. Check out Larry Brokks' article in the Post today.
