Mr.Nova puts a bow on this package with an even-handed tone that belies the dogged dogfight over the Dogs.

We may never know what financial finagling Jerry Moyes may have indulged in as his losses from his business, SWIFT TRANSPORTATION, reportedly eroded his capital base.

RIMJim Balsillie, perhaps seeking to find a place to stow his cash before BlackBerry got squished, found out that being a cowboy doesn't play well with Gary B and the PowersThatBe in the NHL.

The league, having for all intents and purposes, exhausted all possible avenues, will have a legal out with PHX so they can take the Yotes to Quebec, Kansas City, Seattle or the Greater Toronto Area...where there IS money.

Bottom line, the NHL is more profitable now than any time in its entire history.

The optics of pulling the plug on the Yotes earlier would have been bad for business, Like the situation w/ ATL Thrashers, it had to play out to its endgame.

Nordiques redux, eh?
