My Flyers played a better game, jumped out to a two goal lead in the 1st but quickly gave it up and couldn’t get anything else past Boston goalie Tim Thomas and lost Game 2 3-2 in OT.
James vanRiemsdyk, who was the best skater on the ice throughout, popped the first two in during the first half of the opening period, but it was Thomas who was the best player, stopping 52 of 54 shots, some of them excellent. The Flyers dominated in the 3rd, outshooting Bosotn 22-7, but couldn’t finish.
Chris Kelly and Brad Marchant tied things up with two quick ones in the 1st for Boston and David Krejci made a nice, quick one timer high on Brian Boucher off a turnover for the game winner fourteen minutes into OT. The Flyers looked tight early, overskating and mishandling pucks, but the pucks went in thanks to JVR. Unfortunately, they couldn’t hold that lead long and nothing else was able to find the back of the net.
