Vito, like you and all Blackhawks faithful, I have the hope that this is the Hawks’ time.

And like you–and the team–I won’t think of celebrating until the work is done.

If they can keep their heads in Philly, and show us what they showed last night, who knows…

Al, I expect you are right about that in most cases…you remember when players could indulge in some wild antics which would go unreported in the press.

So much more is expected of them. Of course, with the money being multiplied to a degree they could have never dreamed, it goes with the territory.

It is the increased scrutiny which follows the added attention they could do without.

Mr. Martel, thanks for this…it’s been a while since I thought of that wonderful Lindsay Anderson film.

Duncan Keith took your advice in part when he took that puck in the mouth. Had it been open, the biscuit probably would lodged itself in what had once been his throat.

But as we are always reminded that hockey players must keep their ‘head up’, they may yet be vulnerable to pundits.

In the 1968 surrealist film by Lindsay Anderson “IF” winner of the 1969 Cannes Film Festival’d Grand Prix, Malcolm McDowell might have been describing this year’s Cup finals when he said “There’s no such thing as a wrong war. Violence and revolution are the only pure acts”.

I don’t expect a fire in the arena and subsequent firing on fleeing fans and players alike from the rooftops but just about anything else might well happen in this great series.

As for the pontificating pundits, the key to keeping your head while all others are losing theirs, I suggest, is in keeping your head down and your mouth firmly shut.
