If so then Lomabardi would have had no real interest in signing Kovalchuk becuase of the same cap consequences. 

Actually Gaborik&#039;s contract would be easier to swallow for the KIngs than Kovalchuk&#039;s.

The assumption on Gaborik not going to the Kings should follow the same logic as Kovy not being able to sign there.

But Lombardi did admit to trying to acquire Kovy????

LA does not need the added cap strain but they do need another scorer to take the next step.</description>
