One of the many beauties of hockey is that there are so many gentlemen who play the game. So many of the players and coaches, throughout the league and throughout the years, at least from this fan's perspective, are truly good guys.

I've heard various reporters say that it's unusual to find a hockey player who is truly an unpleasant, unlikeable guy.

Seems like Mr. Pronger is one of them.

BD, a well written piece from you.

On the other hand, as Phil Esposito and Flyers' radio man Chris Therrien discussed yesterday on NHL Power Play, Pronger has little use for sportsmanship.

Chris Pronger, by his own admission loves being the object of opposing teams', and opposing fans', hate.

He sees hockey for the show that it is, and wears the villain's black cloak and hat with evident pleasure.

For Flyers fans who embrace the Broad Street Bullies, it's a perfect fit.

And in a violent sport, if that means doing serious damage to his enemy, that is what he will do.

What a classless piece of trash. I couldn't have had more mixed feelings when we found out he was going to Philly. One on hand, we can all agree that he belongs there, on the other hand it meant that I have to see his ugly face more often. Hope those pucks are a nice consolation price for losing the finals.

Very nice job...

He has no fear as he gets away with almost anything he wants to on the ice.

Pronger is a first ballot hall of fame player but he has no class.

If he thinks taking pucks will help anger the Hawks into losing 4 of the next 5 games he could be a genius....until proven correct he looks like an ass.

Actually either way he looks like an ass....

Pronger is a jerk who thrives on attention, and the hockey media is just feeding his ego. He has a history of being a dirty player, and he balances that out with presenting cockiness to the media because he has nothing of value or depth to say.

And his picking up the puck after games 1 and 2? Mean, childish spite. Grow up, Pronger. At your age, you're a veteran in the league and should be leading by example, not by being an ass. Guess he forgets that there are kids out there who *might* want to be looking up to him... including his own.
