The Lighthouse is dead. The Isles will not be here much longer. Wang will sell the team, since he only bought the team to develop the land around the Coliseum in the first place. He could care less about the Islanders. Once they can no longer help him develop the land around the Colisuem, he will sell them to the highest bidder. I just hope its not to someone (Balsillie) who wants to move the team out of New York (i.e. Long Island, Queens, Bklyn).

The real sad part and the real crime here is not that fans will never know the whole truth, but that this team is continuously in turmoil off the ice. Fans should be focused on watching the kids develop, not on reading or hearing two imature sides sqwabble. If the TOH will not approave the proposal as is, then I cannot blame Charles Wang for selling or moving, anyone that does, simply lives in a dream world. I am not stating that I blame the TOH for the mess this is turning into either, both sides are to blame here. The team bleeds money as is, retrofitting the old barn will not make the team solvant, therefore, sadly, I cannot envision the Islanders staying put in the long run….and that…..is the really sad part of this whole story.

TOH shame on you, Charles Wang, shame on you….

From the LI Herald on line edition “A Hempstead Town Council vote on Tuesday would all but certify its intent to consider only a scaled-back version of the Lighthouse project.

Supervisor Kate Murray told the Herald she expects the seven-member board to approve legislation that would authorize the town to retain an engineering and planning firm to devise what she calls a “zoning blueprint” for the 77 acres surrounding the Nassau Coliseum.”

I was shocked to see Charles on with Howie last night.
(and while Howie did a decent interview, his questioning was a tad soft).

It all comes down to “the money”.
And it shouldn’t shock anyone that there ”no money”.

All the rest of this nonsense is window dressing.

There certainly was a lot of discomfort during Wang’s interview last night. Wang talked about it, and then said he didn’t want to talk about it. I was glad Howie didn’t show guilt for asking about it.
