A native Nashvillian that grew up with minor league hockey, I'm now a devoted Predators fan and NHL follower. I have had the privilege of allowing my children to grow up watching the Predators and seeing the joy on their face when they are at a game. By day, I am a partner in an independent investment management company in the Nashville area. I played collegiate football and graduated from the University of South Carolina and graduated from the LSU graduate School of Banking. So yes, there are real true southern hockey fans in these non-traditional markets.

The Barry Trotz I Knew

The Barry Trotz I Knew

The Nashville Predators have fired their first and only Head Coach, Barry Trotz. That action has been and will be dissected for some time, and the pros and cons of that decision will be passionately debated among the fans of the team. Trotz has been described as a good coach that couldn’t get the team [...]

The Predators Problem: Philosophy, Personnel, and Preparation

The struggling Nashville Predators are going to miss the playoffs for the second consecutive season. That has prompted rumblings among the fan base that it is time for head Coach Barry Trotz, General manager David Poile, or both to go. Fans are disgruntled over the lack of offense, the perceived strictures of the Predators “system” [...]

Predators Shoot Down the Capitals In a Shoot Out

Predators Shoot Down the Capitals In a Shoot Out

Our elected leaders in Washington are a pretty dysfunctional bunch. The hockey team in Washington is pretty dang good. The Capitals brought their high octane offense to Smashville to face the Predators, who were struggling to get above .500, and the Predators managed to find enough offense to outlast the Capital in a shootout to [...]

Stars Stomp the Predators 7-3

Stars Stomp the Predators 7-3

The Dallas Stars are a hungry team, fighting for a playoff spot. The Nashville Predators are a team that is playing out the string, waiting for a long offseason. Predators Blow Three Leads, Fall to the Avalanche In a SO

The Nashville Predators had every chance to get their first win of the season against the Colorado Avalanche. All they had to do was hold a lead. Yeah…about that “holding the lead” thing. The last time the Nashville Predators played the Chicago Blackhawks, it took them about a half period to get their legs going and to make a game of it. In tonight’s contest at the United Center, it took the Predators a bit longer, but once they did, it was good enough to jump out to [...]

Predators Embarrass Themselves in 5-1 Loss to the Oilers

Predators Embarrass Themselves in 5-1 Loss to the Oilers

For some reason, the Edmonton Oilers have owned the Predators over the past couple of seasons. There is no doubt that the Oilers have talent up front, but this is a team that has struggled on the blue line and has used six different goalies this season. It didn’t matter in the contest between the [...]

Blues Pound the Predators 4-1

Blues Pound the Predators 4-1

The Nashville Predators have not beaten the St. Louis Blues this season. Given the breathtaking talent gap between the two teams, the Predators may not neat the Blues for a long time.
