RSSAuthor Archive for Anthony

Anthony Curatolo is a 31 y/o New Yorker with a passion for the game that takes him into a different category then the regular run of the mill fan. He has an intense, creative, witty style that will either have you love him or hate him within the first paragraph you read from one of his writings. Growing up in a hockey world (his father was raised in Montreal, and his father brought that passion with him into the States) was a blessing in disguise for Anthony. Hockey has become more then a passion and infatuation for, and he hopes to one day have a career within the sport. Picked up originally by the Checking Line (from guest blogs written for HockeyBuzz), Anthony began blogging on a daily basis. When his original site, the checking line, went down the writing passion started to fall off. A few years later, Crash the Crease was born and Anthony was approached and asked to write for them. Since that time (August '08), Anthony has become a panel member on the websites Sunday talk show, as well as branching off and forming 1/3 of the talk show team called "The Hockey Guys!" Now Anthony takes his mind and his writings to the next level as he begins his journey with Hockey Independent and asks that there are many that join him. The Kings are the team, the style is Independent and the game is Hockey - there is nothing better in the universe. Although his pride bleeds for the Orange and Black (yes folks, the Philadelphia Flyers) Anthony is also a FAN of the game, and has knowledge for all 30 teams within the league coming from his true, pure love for the sport in it's entirety. As a voice of a fan for the fans (as we all know is the "Crash the Crease" and "The Hockey Guys" slogans) there will be debate, controversy, praise and love all combined into one giant thing - blogs by Anthony.

“Cardiac” Kings at it again

“Cardiac” Kings at it again

It wasn’t pretty. It wasn’t impressive.  However, it was another two points for the “cardiac” Kings this afternoon at the Staples Center. The Boston Bruins, coming off a huge victory against San Jose, took it to the Kings after the first twenty minutes of hockey were played. Jarret Stoll opened the scoring a little passed [...]

Back in Action

The Christmas holiday has come and gone as did the eight days off for the Los Angeles Kings. With hopes of returning to action with a full, healthy line up coming into tonights contest against the Phoenix Coyotes; such is not the case. Jarret Stoll and Randy Jones will both be missing from the line [...]

Just what the doctor ordered. A week off to rest the injured. Could it have come at a better time? And what presents will Santa have for the Kings?

First in the West……..to reach 20; intent to “blow”

First in the West……..to reach 20; intent to “blow”

Last night, you would of thought a record player was skipping. “Shot, save made by Quick. Shot, save made by Quick. Shot, save made by Quick” was the phrase of the night by Jim Fox on the FSKings telecast. Especially in the third when “Quicker” was able to make two highlight reel saves. Jonathan Quick [...]

Kings bite back as slumps end

Kings bite back as slumps end

A night when the Kings were not a favorite, or even a long shot, they came out on top. Erik Ersberg was announced as the starter for last nights game and Kings nation erupted. Everyone wondered what Terry Murray was thinking with the way the schedule coming up looked.  Tonight, the Kings are back home [...]

How sweet is it? Sweet enough to get a win as Kings cool off hot Flames

How sweet is it? Sweet enough to get a win as Kings cool off hot Flames

It seemed as if it was going to be a long night for the Los Angeles Kings. That was until Jonathan Quick read my blogs.  Seriously, Quick put on a performance, along with a brilliant defensive performance from the Kings blue line, especially one Rob Scuderi. You can look at the score sheet, but it [...]

Go Kings Go

The title says it all. The Kings are playing good hockey, but it is time to step it up and take a stand.

Kings beat Hawks. Playoff preview? …and some notes

Was the Kings/Hawks game a playoff preview of things to come? Success is on the horizon, we just need this team to play up to it’s potential more often.

Hot and Cold Kings

Hot and Cold Kings

Back to back road games on back to back nights are always tough.  For the Kings, it was a hot and cold pair of events. I would just like to question why Terry Murray continues to give Jonathan Quick the abundance of the starts.  Wednesday night against the Oilers, Quick played good enough to lead [...]

November has quickly turned into the month that all Kings fans would like to forget compared to October. The Kings look to regroup and rebound as a whole tonight .

Kings can’t catch up, lose to Flyers 3-2

Kings can’t catch up, lose to Flyers 3-2

On a night where it seemed as if the Kings would get majority of the bounces, they didn’t. On a night where it seemed as if the Kings would have the upper hand playing a back-up goaltender, they didn’t. On a night where it seemed as if the Kings would take advantage of special teams [...]
