Niemi Tonight

As reported by Tim Sassone of the Daily Herald, word out of the morning skate is Antti Niemi will start in goal tonight against the Oilers.
Not a vote of confidence for Cristobal Huet but most likely he will get a chance tomorrow night in Nashville. Huet had a good record against the Oilers but maybe Joel Quenneville is trying to shield him from a potentially volatile United Center crowd. Huet has not garnered a lot of love from hometown fans.
Really Huet hasn’t deserved many cheers as his play has been spotty. Niemi has looked better overall this season, but he too has had some shaky moments. Both goalies will have to improve as the Hawks won’t be able to score five or six goals in every game.
Who will emerge as true number one goal keeper and when?
Maybe the Hawks starting goal keeper for this season isn’t on the roster yet….

[...] the game tonight I was hoping that Huet would get the start. But that’s not the case instead Niemi will be in the Blackhawks net. Too bad really because a couple of the shots that got past Huet on Monday night were just ugly. [...]
Too bad Huet sits tonight. So far the Oil and Hawks are both scoring a lot of goals. Could have had a good old fashioned 80s style shootout.
might be better to start Huet away from the anti-cristo home crowd
