Rumor: Crawford and Johnson Placed on Waivers

I saw that Corey Crawford was placed on waivers by reading a comment in the Puck Daddy live blog from earlier today. There are also some whispers Aaron Johnson was placed on waivers. I have not been able to substantiate either story, but Kevin Allen of USA Today has reported via Twitter that Crawford and Johnson have been placed on waivers.
Crawford possibly being placed on waivers is curious. It leads me to be believe another goalie has become available and a deal could be in the works. My guess on the other goalie could be Joey MacDonald of the Leafs….maybe…. as he was put in on waivers yesterday???.
Johnson would have to clear waivers to play in Rockford, and I would think there is a good chance he would be claimed because he is on a one year contract earning only $540,000 . Once again this could be a precursor to a trade.
The Leafs also have extra defensemen…….stayed tuned.
I will be out later this afternoon with an update.

Al they better figure out a way to bring in a veteran backup goalie and some sand paper on defense because right now I believe this is the worst goaltending in the league for a team that thinks they are going deep and more inportantly the defense is weak, weak, weak.
